Chemical Wash: Daikin Ducted Aircon at Cyan
📍Project Location
Keng Chin Rd
🏠 Property Type
Condo
The homeowner at Cyan Condominium reported that the Daikin ducted aircon serving the master bedroom was no longer producing cool air and contacted Homeone for assistance. Our Homeone aircon technician was dispatched to assess the unit and identify the cause of the fault.

Site Findings:
On-site inspection found the master bedroom ducted unit not cooling and the system displaying error code A5. The indoor cooling coil was heavily soiled and required a chemical wash. Access to the indoor unit required cutting the ceiling, and ceiling reinstatement would be needed after servicing.
Understanding Error Code A5:
Daikin error code A5 indicates either overheating in heating mode or coil freezing in cooling mode; common causes include blocked airflow (dirty filters/coils), a malfunctioning fan, low refrigerant, or sensor faults. Restricted airflow from a clogged coil or filter can cause the coil to freeze or the system to overheat, reducing cooling performance and triggering the A5 code.
Solutions and Outcome:
To resolve the problem, our technician carried out the following job scopes in order:
1.Preliminary diagnosis
Confirmed A5 code, inspected the indoor unit, checked and temporarily cleaned the air filter, and tested fan operation.
2. Site preparation
Isolated power, protected the room and furnishings, prepared tools, and covered the surroundings with the plastic sheet to prevent chemicals.
3. Ceiling access
Carefully cut and removed the necessary section of ceiling to gain safe access to the indoor coil and service area.
4. Chemical wash & cleaning
Performed a full chemical wash of the indoor cooling coil and condensate/drain lines, flushed away debris, and removed contaminants. Re-cleaned the air filter, verified fan motor operation, checked and vacuumed the aircon discharge drain pipe to ensure proper drainage, and inspected for any other faults (e.g., obvious sensor or refrigerant issues).
5. Ceiling reinstatement & finishing
Repaired and reinstated the ceiling opening to match existing finishes.
6. Final testing & handover
During the final testing stage, we conduct a comprehensive temperature performance test and superheat analysis to verify optimal system efficiency. Upon successful validation, the system is handed over with full operational assurance.

Conclusion
Through this case at Cyan Condominium, Homeone’s technician successfully restored the Daikin ducted aircon to full working condition with a detailed and professional approach. From diagnosis and chemical washing to ceiling reinstatement and final testing, every step was handled with precision to ensure lasting performance.
